Hey everyone,
There seems to be a bit of a mix-up online involving us (Booksmithwritersandpublishers.co.uk) and another company with a very similar name (Booksmithwritersandpublishers.com). A couple of days ago, we were made aware of a blog post uploaded on our competitor’s website that claimed us to be “scammers” from India.
So, let’s sort this out with some plain talk.
Firstly, yes, our names are almost identical, which is confusing. We have a wide reach, working hard to help authors publish their books. We’re all about transparency and good service, not about the drama.
The claim that we’ve been impersonating or pressuring authors just isn’t true. We do follow up with authors because that’s part of our job—to keep projects moving and ensure we meet our targets. It’s not like we are bombarding anyone. We intend to be efficient and responsive. Sometimes, in services like ours, it’s normal to have frequent interactions to ensure we’re all on the same page and hitting targets. It’s never about being pushy—think of it as us being on top of our game.
Regarding the claims about scamming, it’s easy to throw around words like that, especially online. Sure, not every customer will be 100% satisfied, but that’s the nature of any service industry, right? But let’s talk facts and not just throw around labels. We’ve got loads of reviews from authors who’ve had great experiences with us.
Like, Andreas Hein, who mentioned having “a positive experience with great support,” even though it was challenging for him working with different people. Then there’s Jenny Noon, who couldn’t praise enough about how our team, especially George Bachman, turned her manuscript into a published book when she felt lost doing it alone.
Unfortunately, not every review falls on the positive side. As Peter Racz reviewed, “At the End my book was published with a bit of hassle and a few mistakes. They are not bad guys and it is a legitimate company, I thought to the very end it is a scam. Harris Johnson is a exaptional person and very devoted to the assignment he is on.”
We are a work in progress, and there’s nothing wrong with accepting that. We take feedback seriously and always aim to improve.
It’s also worth mentioning that there’s no monopoly in the online services world. We’re here to offer great service, just like anyone else should be. Instead of pointing fingers, improving services all around could benefit everyone—especially the writers looking for good services.
So, let’s keep it about the books and not about baseless allegations. We’re here to support authors, not compete with shadows.
Thanks for hearing us out!
